Farm City Day is a program of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chemung County in partnership with Elmira Downtown. Farm City Day seeks to make the public more aware of the importance of farming to the economic well-being and quality of life in Chemung County. Farm City Day 2010’s theme was "Growing Together". In addition to providing people an opportunity to educate themselves regarding the importance of agriculture in this community, the day includes displays of animals and machinery, activities for children, music, food, a craft show, and farmer's market.

Farm City Day takes place on Main Street and in Wisner Park in downtown Elmira. It’s always a great day when the farm comes to the city!

Farm City Day usually takes place the first weekend of October-so pencil it in for 2011, and stay tuned for more information.
